Germany Day 3

Day 3 of our trip takes us through the Black Forest, a dark canopy of evergreens, dotted with open slopes and farmland. We drove along one of the tourist routes and passed by quiet countryside interspersed with farmhouses and saw many dairy cows. It was really a very picturesque drive.

Along the way we stopped at the Lake Mummelsee for lunch. Our destination was Triberg, a small town framed by 3 mountains, hence the name. What brought us to Triberg was the waterfalls. It was Germany's highest waterfalls at 163m depth. The sight was indeed spectacular! As a side tour, we also visited the Deutsches Uhrenmuseum in Furtwangen which showcased the history of Germany's clock making. You can find all sorts of clocks/time pieces here and the famous cuckoo clocks in the Black Forest region.

We had dinner at a nearby restaurant and had German fare of sausages with sauerkraut. The sauerkraut is the German's version of Korea's kimchi minus the spiciness. It's super sour to our tastes and we didn't really like it. Nevertheless, at least we can say we have eaten authentic German food now!
