"Chew-Chew-Chew" Training

Over the past 12 days, we have started training Trisha to eat more solid food instead of the usual porridge meals she took. Basically, we do not give her porridge anymore. We switched her totally to eating soft rice with vegetables and meat. You can read more about her daily menu under the post titles of "No Hunger Pain, No Gain" if you are interested.

In summary, she has been eating soft rice pretty well. She doesn't like vegetables and fruits unless they are very soft and hidden in some other food she like, example mashed potatoes, rice, minced meat patties. Even if they are in the rice, if she manages to see it, taste it, eg peas in fried rice, she'll still spit it out. It's worse for fruits. We have been giving her slices of apples, pears, oranges, strawberries, papaya, grapes but she totally rejects them. She'll sometimes bite a small bit off and then spit it out.

We have sort of concluded that she doesn't like food that is hard and she needs to bite into smaller pieces. For soft rice, minced meat patties, scrambled eggs, etc, she will chew but it's still a soft lump in her mouth, hence she's ok with it. For fruits, after biting or chewing a few times, though it's smaller but it still exist as hard pieces in the mouth, hence, she'll spit it out. We also thought she's not really adventurous in new food but somehow she has proved us wrong by liking the minced meat patties. We are really puzzled but definitely pleased. =)

Anyway, we still have a long long way to go.

Just wish she likes to eat fruits very very soon!
