What Will She Be When She Grows Up

Today is Trisha's Lunar Birthday - 23 Nov in the lunar calendar.

Even though we are not in our home country we wanted to follow the tradition and give her a 1st lunar birthday celebration. However due to lack of materials, we can only do as best as we can.

For the Chinese, there is this tradition where a few items like ruler, calculator, food, books, scissors, etc are placed in front of the 1 yr old. This is for the kid to pick which one he/she likes and it will symbolise what he/she will grow up to be.

For the fun of it (though we don't quite believe it will turn out true), we did it with Trisha this morning. See what she will become when she grows up!

This is our own interpretation....heheh....we see what we want to see, we hear what we want to hear...kekekke....

1. Mirror - She's hiao....like to be mei3 mei3. Or she will be in the beauty line? Future supermodel/beauty queen? Hehehhe

2. Scissors - Fashion Designer? Hhm....does the label Trisha Woo looks like a future super brand like Versace, Valentino, Vera Wang to you? =p

3. Pen - Writer? Journalist? I rather she be a writer and be as famous as JK Rowling. Maybe she can write about The Return of Harry Potter since her Mummy (me!) is a huge Harry Potter fan. Oh, and she can earn millions too if she's as famous as Ms Rowling. =p

4. Calculator - Accountant? Like to count? Good in maths, like her Mummy? =p

5. Book - Aiyo, why she go and pick all those far fetch careers before this? Does it mean she won't be a studious kid? *worried*

6. Food aka cake in a plate - Traditionally, old folks say this mean greedy kid...phew, she picked it second last.

7. Lastly - €100 bill! Alamak, she picked this the last!!!!! How Can???? But I think it makes logic sense to what she picked earlier.

You see, for No. 1-3, if she chose these careers and didn't make it to the big scene, she won't be earning lots of money right?

And for No. 4, accountants don't make much too, right? (Any accountants? Correct me if I'm wrong. =p)

For No. 5, she don't study hard, how to get her dream job (where everywhere now needs paper qualifications) and earn big bucks.

So that ends my interpretations.

Again, it's just for fun and she will be whatever she wants to be when she grows up. =)

But as parents, of course, we'll try to steer her in the right direction for her to release her full potential.
