First, our landlord, Ronald came on Saturday morning and removed some of the furniture from the apartment as our belongings are FINALLY coming in on Monday 11 Feb! FINALLY, after 3 long months of getting all the paperwork done. So we had the bed removed but luckily, we still have two mattresses from the other 2 bedrooms. Else we really have to sleep on the sofa!
Then, we also had our car transferred to us but as we still need to get some paperwork done, we can't drive it out on the roads yet. However, the carpark here is almost "dead" from 8 pm onwards, Daddy XM and Mummy PP went for a spin in the carpark to get used to manual driving and left hand drive. Hmm....Daddy XM is improving and getting the hang of it but Mummy PP....sigh.....she stalled the car quite a number of times! Hahahha, she sure needs lots of practicing! =p
In our new car!
On Sunday, we had our gathering with the other Singaporeans here for a CNY lunch in Den Haag. Since we can't drive the car out yet, we took the public transport (bus then train) to the Chinese Restaurant "Long Ting Restaurant" in Den Haag's Chinatown. It was a sunny, fine day and we took a nice short stroll from the train station to Chinatown.
Here's some shots taken while getting ready to leave house and at the event itself. Mummy PP and Daddy XM were busy mingling and eating that they didn't take a lot of pictures actually. The new friends they made are all very friendly and nice. Mummy PP and Daddy XM enjoyed themselves a lot. Me too, cos there's this 8 yr old Evelyn Jie Jie who likes me so much that she kept coming over to our table to play with me! =)
The best thing about this lunch was not just making new friends. We got to know of this Oriental Supermarket in Den Haag's Chinatown that sells a lot of Singapore stuffs! Like the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, mee sua, Thai rice, usual vegetables that can be found in Singapore, Lee Kum Kee products, MILO (but in tins), Nestle cereal, Chuan Bei PiPa Gao for sore throat, etc, etc. Mummy PP was SUPER SUPER happy cos she finally can get all these stuff here! There's one branch in Amsterdam and once Daddy and Mummy gets the hang of driving, they will probably pop down to this supermarket and stock up on lots of food/groceries! =)
It was really a very enjoyable weekend for us and next week we will be busy busy busy unpacking our belongings so if you didn't see any updates from us, please be patient! =)
Till next time, have a good week ahead! =)
